Swim Lessons

Vitamin Sea Swim School understands that there will be times when it is necessary to cancel a swimming lesson due to illness or inclement weather. The air and water temperature are important factors in providing a suitable teaching environment and at all times the safety and interest of the student defines whether a lesson should be kept or canceled.

It is not a problem to teach a lesson in the rain if the temperature is tolerable, particularly in mid-summer.  After all, we do get wet swimming in the pool every lesson!

At the end of the day it is your choice to cancel a lesson for any reason, however, to ensure consistency and fairness for all clients and instructors, we would like to summarize our cancellation policy below:

  1. In the event of a cancellation by you (the client), with 48 hours notice, Vitamin Sea Swim School will provide you with a make-up lesson without charging a cancellation fee ($50).  This will be arranged at a time that suits both yourself and the instructor within (2) weeks of the lesson cancellation.

  2. Cancellations due to illness will be accepted up to 12 hours prior to a lesson. Please call your instructor to schedule a make-up date/time. They will have contacted you prior to your first lesson to exchange phone numbers.

  3. Cancellations due to unavailability should be 7 seven days prior to schedule class, and in this case make up lessons will be offered to you. Unless confirmed prior to the start of a lesson session, a maximum of two classes can be rescheduled due to unavailability.

  4. If an instructor is unable to keep a lesson due to illness or misadventure, the instructor will call you as soon as we are aware that there is a problem. We will offer you a replacement instructor where possible, or the opportunity to reschedule the class at a time that suits you. You will be given a credit (one lesson fee) towards a future swim lesson if a rescheduled time cannot be made within 2 weeks of the cancellation.

  5. When Vitamin Sea Swim School believes the weather is unsuitable for swimming, we will contact you to postpone a class. However, we do cover a broad range of areas and pool settings, so if we have not contacted you, and you believe the weather / temperature is unsuitable to swim, please call your instructor directly. We do like to wait 30 min to an hour prior to the lesson to cancel or reschedule since we all know Florida likes to change its mind.

  6. Vitamin Sea Swim School will never cancel a class without attempting to contact you, so please DO NOT assume a class is cancelled if the weather is poor.

  7. Should you wish to cancel a lesson prior to the 48 hour window, please call the instructor to make a cancellation. If you cancel a lesson within the 48 hour window, you will not be able to make up that lesson.

  8. If Vitamin Sea Swim School needs to cancel a class for any reason, we will attempt to provide a make-up class. If a make up class is not made available, credit will be applied to your account.

  9. Please keep in mind that sometimes things happen, especially in Tampa right now with the big surge of new people and traffic may be crazy some days than others. If an instructor is ever running behind due to traffic, they will reach out & make you aware of the situation as soon as they notice. This is NOT a cancellation or rescheduling as things happen and the lesson is still happening. The full time will still be done for the lesson they may just be running behind.
